1. Who controls your data
The White Crib is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Contact us at hello@thewhitecrib.com with any privacy question or request.
2. What we collect
- Your order: your name, email address, delivery address, optional phone number, and the personalisation you enter, such as a baby's name and date of birth. This is the only way we can make and send your order.
- Messages: your name, email and message when you use the contact form.
- Newsletter: your email address, only if you subscribe.
- Visits: anonymous visit statistics, only if you allow them in the cookie banner.
A baby's name and birth details are personal data about a child. We use them only to make your order and handle any problem with it.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use your details to take and deliver your order and to answer your messages (to perform our contract with you). We keep order records to meet tax and accounting rules (a legal obligation). We send marketing email only if you ask us to (your consent), and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email. We count visits, with your permission, to improve the shop (consent).
4. Payment data and Stripe
Checkout runs on Stripe. Card numbers are collected and processed directly by Stripe under its own privacy policy. We receive confirmation of payment and the last four digits and brand of the card, but never your full card number.
5. Who else sees your data
We share only what is needed with the people who help us fulfil your order: the printer or maker who produces your item (it receives your personalisation and delivery address), the courier (your name, address and phone number if given) and our email provider. Stripe handles payment. We do not sell your personal data.
6. Cookies
We use a session cookie to remember your basket, which is strictly necessary. With your permission we also count visits anonymously. None of it is used for advertising or to track you across other sites. See our cookie policy.
7. How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept for six years to meet tax and accounting rules. Contact messages are kept for up to two years. Visit statistics are kept for up to 25 months. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
8. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or export the personal data we hold about you, to object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@thewhitecrib.com and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
